Das Khaman House is an icon of Ahmedabad. It serves delicious authentic 'Amdaavaadi' food. In winters, they serve Undhiyu - a 'Surti' delicacy. Undhiyu comes from gujarati word "Undhu" which means upside down. This dish is a gujarati version of mixed veg. However, the flavor is typically unique one. The Undhiyu has seasonal vegetables like carrot, green peas, beans, potatoes and local spices to enhance the flavor. It is served hot with fluffy and fresh Kulchas on the side. Undhiyu is available everywhere in Gujarat during winters but what this place offers will remain fresh in my memory for a long time.
P.S. - Their Sev Khamani is quite iconic and definitely worth trying.
